Related equipment and cleaning kit
Zero your rifle / Judging distance
Use of lamps at night identification
Calling and lures
Practical assessment/ range practice

If candidates for the course do not have their own firearms these can be provided.

Deer Control

Deer can damage or kill planted nursery stock and young trees of many species. They may also prevent natural regeneration in woodlands and that of commercial woodlands to. The damage ranges from eating young seedlings to cutting off the leading shoot, browsing branches and removal of sufficient bark to check or kill young trees. Deer may attach both semi-mature hedgerow arable crops and woodland trees .
Deer feed primarily on young trees grassland and cereals but they will take a wide range of other crops. Roots, brassicas and market garden crops can suffer severe damage, both to the growing plants and the marketable end-product.

Deer are also controlled for there own benefit, removing old or injured animals before they suffer a long and sometimes painful death. In this role we take the place of natural predators.

Fox Control

We are specialists in the field of fox control using all legal control methods available. Whether it be in an inner city garden, a waste site, or a rural farmers field, Fen Pest Control has the ability and skill for the task at hand.
The most common methods used are:
Cage trapping
This is the most common method used in the urban situation but also has proven to be just as effective in a rural environment, proving to be discreet, cost-effective and humane.

Shooting

This is only usually used in the rural locations or large open areas where safety must always be to the fore, the method usually used is shooting by night with a full bore or rimfire rifle ( shotguns may be used at times) using either a lamp or night vision equipment.
Our team are fully trained in Lantra humane animal capture and use tranquillising darts which stupefies the animal in question. The tranquilliser works by breaking down the chemical signals connecting the animal’s brain with the physical movement of its limbs. This enables us to capture the horse, deer or sheep on your Tunbridge Wells or Hastings land, without the risks associated with the animal losing consciousness.
Fen Pest Control Ltd also use dart guns to administer antibiotics and other drugs to animals in the Heathfield and Tunbridge Wells areas as well as across Kent and Sussex.
